Campaign Contributions from the Development Industry

I made a decision early in my campaign not to accept contributions from developers, the real estate industry, or organizations with commercial interests in decisions made by the City of Raleigh.

Raleigh is growing, and decisions about housing, zoning, land use, and development will shape our city's future for years to come. These decisions affect our neighborhoods, infrastructure, affordability, and quality of life.

I recognize that developers and the real estate industry play an important role in our city's growth. I also understand that many people in these industries care deeply about Raleigh and want to see it succeed.

But I believe it's important for residents to have confidence that decisions made by their elected officials are based on what's best for the community, not who contributed to their campaigns. If elected, I intend to work with all stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and developers, to find solutions to Raleigh's challenges.

This was a personal decision I made about how I wanted to run my campaign. And I've been positively overwhelmed by the support from residents from all walks of life who have stepped up to support my campaign, both financially and as volunteers.

At the end of the day, I want Raleigh residents to know that my decisions will be guided by the needs of our community.
